Research various performance-management systems that are used or could be used by your chosen type of health care organization. As you conduct your research, remember the broad definition of a performance-management system: a comprehensive system used by an organization to ensure that the organization achieves its goals and improves its performance. A performance-management system is the overarching system that encompasses both risk management and quality management.

 

Various activities comprise a performance management system and may include identifying gaps or risks; identifying legal, regulatory, or accreditation requirements; setting goals; assigning accountability; monitoring performance; making adjustments as necessary; providing feedback; and evaluating progress and communicating results.
